This FTDI EQDIR USB adapter allows you to directly connect your laptop or computer to a Skywatcher EQ mount enabling remote operation through EQMOD and the various planetarium programs. The cable replaces the hand controller and connects to the mount's RJ45 hand controller port. The cable will work with all versions of Windows, Mac OS 10.3 onwards and Linux
and because the FTDI chip has its own unique chipset ID it enables the computer's com port number to remain the same meaning it can be plugged into different physical USB ports on the same computer if needed.
The RJ45 plug also features a rubber cowl preventing snagging and an integral reinforcing sleeve for extra strength. All cables are quality controlled prior to dispatch.
