This is an original Meade DS-2000 tripod knob.   This knob comes included on the top of the tripod and screws into the bottom of the DS-2000 head to connect the head and the tripod together.  If you have a tripod that is missing this knob or you want to be able to attach your DS-2000 head another place besides onto the tripod you should get one of these very hard to find attachment knobs.  The knob is 2-1/4" in diameter.  The metal thread is 5/16 by 32 threads per inch as close as I can tell.   These are in excellent condition,   some show signs of use. Note: some knobs had a ridge for a snap ring to hold the knob onto the tripod, this one does not.
